Are you a 90’s kid? This Friday the 26th May there is going to be a celebration of 90’s music, featuring everything from rock, pop, rap, to nu-metal. It will include the music of Rage Against the Machine, Faith No More, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Deftones, Radiohead, Korn, Beastie Boys, Garbage, and Metallica.

What to Expect

For fans of 90’s music, there will be something everyone can enjoy! The selection of music is representative of a time when alternative music broke into the mainstream, and it was visceral and real.

Listeners of Triple J in the 90’s will be sure to remember all of these bands, and the good times had while listening to their awesome music. It’s not often that you get a chance to see such a variety of 90’s hits in one place at one time.

Hits

I’m sure you remember the Rage Against the Machine hit “Killing in the Name”, the Faith No More hit “Easy” (actually a Lionel Richie cover), the countless hits by Red Hot Chili Peppers (including “Californication”), the Smashing Pumpkins hit “Tonight, Tonight” (amongst many others), the Pearl Jam hit “Jeremy”, the Alice in Chains hit “Man in the Box”, the Deftones hit “My Own Summer (Shove It)”, the Radiohead hit “Paranoid Android”, the Korn hit “Got the Life”, the Beastie Boys hit “Sabotage”, the Garbage hit “Stupid Girl”, and the Metallica hit “Enter Sandman” (though we’re sure you will be familiar with dozens of others).

The show will be at Canberra’s The Basement (2 Cohen St, Belconnen), and it’s only $28.60. You can find tickets at Moshtix. For all you lovers of 90’s music, I suggest you get along, as there’s nothing better than a night out packed with live renditions of the greatest hits of your youth.
